Bunk House
The Bunk House was probably built in the 1940’s by the ancestors of the famous 1836 battle of Texas history known as the Battle of San Jacinto. This portion of the 10xXx Ranch was originally homestead land that was reportedly granted to the family by Sam Houston as a reward his service in the Texas Army against the Mexican Army. Santa Anna was the Mexican General who had sieged the Alamo at San Antonio and then marched on to San Jacinto (near Houston) where he was defeated in the decisive battle for Texas’ freedom. The brick home has been remodeled by the 10xxx Ranch and has three bedrooms (sleeps 6) with two bathrooms.
